Eligibility Criteria of Assam SC Scholarship
Community: Only SC Community Students are eligible to apply for the Scholarship.
Citizenship: The scholarships are open to Nationals of India only.
State of Domicile: Domicile state means the state in which students have their permanent address. Students are required to provide their domicile state correctly as their applications may be sent for verification to the Authorities belonging to their State of Domicile.
Family Restriction: All the children of any parent/ guardian will be entitled to receive the benefits of the scheme.
Income Ceiling:
Pre-Matric (Class-IX & X) [Component-I] and Post-Matric Scholarship:
Scholarships will be granted to the SC students whose parental/guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum. The income certificate should be obtained only from the Circle Officer of the respective Revenue Circle.
Pre-Matric (Class I-X) [Component-II] Scholarship:
No income bar for the children of those Engaged in Occupations involving Cleaning and Prone to Health Hazards.
Children of those Engaged in Occupations involving Cleaning and Prone to Health Hazards, Eligible candidates will submit a certificate from the District Social Welfare office, an identified officer of the Local body, a Civic Agency, or any such authority as designated by the State Government.
How to Apply for Scholarship for SC Students in 2024?
To apply for the SC Scholarship, candidates should visit the official National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in to submit their online applications. Follow the steps below to complete the online application process:
Step 1: Scroll down and navigate to the Important Web Links section.
Step 2: Click on the Online Application Form link.
Step 3: A new webpage will open.
Step 4: Click on the “New Registration” link.
Step 5: Enter the required details in the portal and complete the registration process.
Step 6: After registration, provide all necessary credentials and upload the required documents on the portal.
Step 7: Finally, click on “Submit” and make sure to take a printout of your submitted application.”

Note:
Applicants are advised to give only bank account details that remain in active mode so that payment of the Scholarship does not fail as all the disbursement of the Scholarship will be made through DBT mode. The authority shall not be responsible for any failure of transaction due to inactive or incorrect bank details.
Applicants to ensure that they have a bank account seeded with an Aadhaar number.
Aadhaar to be made mandatory for all applicants. However, for minor applicants who apply without an Aadhaar, it will be mandatory for the parent or legal guardian to provide an Aadhaar.
